India is one of the most stunning countries in the world, with beauty and mystery around every corner. India is the ideal destination for portrait photography, as there are so many stories etched onto the faces of these remarkable people. This is one of the things that led me to visit in search of the best subjects to boost my portfolio as a professional!
Travelling this magnificent country was a real treat for me, and it allowed me to find and enjoy so many stunning photo opportunities. These portraits of the faces of India show just how many stories are etched across the diverse range of faces found throughout. On my travels, I discovered so many fascinating people, whether in the shanty towns of Mumbai, the bustling streets of New Delhi, or the regal city of Agra, on the banks of the Yuma River. India was and is a rich tapestry of eclectic individuals from all walks of life, and I wanted to tell their stories through my work.
Faces can be so expressive and emotive, and it’s plain to see from my selection how much diversity I’ve captured. India is a much more colorful country than people give it credit for, and that is wonderfully captured in these stunningly normal but uniquely personal photographs.
Capturing seminal Indian events, such as the festival of Holi, the Bindi mark, and some of the countries most interesting Babas, these photos paint a landscape of modern India that I found awe-inspiring. These pictures showcase the diversity of an often misunderstood country and allow a glimpse into the culture, lifestyle, and identity of the nation.
Editorial photography is all about creating and telling a story. About bringing the reader (or viewer) on a journey through the power of imagery, and I hope I’ve managed to accomplish that.
